India on Monday successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable, inter-continental ballistic missile Agni 5, that has a range of over 5,000 km covering whole of China, from Abdul Kalam island off Odisha coast, as per the media reports.
The defence sources said, quoted PTI that, the successful test-firing on Monday will pave the way for user trial of the most potent Indian missile and its eventual induction into the strategic forces command (SFC).
On this achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated DRDO and its scientists on the successful test firing of Agni V.
The Prime Minister said, “Successful test firing of Agni V makes every Indian very proud. It will add tremendous strength to our strategic defence.”
“The successful test firing of Agni V is the result of the hardwork of DRDO and its scientists. I congratulate them,” he added.
