The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the proposed acquisition of Macquarie AirFinance Limited by Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd through its subsidiary, DAE Eirecam Designated Activity Company.
The transaction involves the purchase of Macquarie AirFinance from its existing shareholders, further strengthening DAE’s position in the global aircraft leasing industry.
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), headquartered in Dubai, is one of the world's leading aircraft lessors, serving airline customers across more than 80 countries. The acquisition is being carried out through DAE Eirecam Designated Activity Company, a wholly owned downstream entity of DAE.
Macquarie AirFinance, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, is also a major global aircraft leasing company with operations spanning over 45 countries and a diversified portfolio of commercial aircraft leased to airlines worldwide.
The CCI’s approval clears the transaction from an Indian competition law perspective, allowing the parties to proceed with the deal subject to any other applicable regulatory approvals. The acquisition is expected to enhance DAE's aircraft portfolio and strengthen its global presence in the aviation leasing market.
