The Indian rupee declined 10 paise to 95.55 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday, pressured by continued FII outflows and disruptions to global crude oil supplies.
However, the rupee’s fall was cushioned by a slightly weaker US dollar and a decline in global crude oil prices to below USD 90 a barrel, limiting the extent of the currency’s depreciation.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 95.54 against the US dollar before slipping to 95.55, compared with its previous close.
