Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will conduct the annual performance review of 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in New Delhi on September 1, 2026, with a focus on boosting indigenous technology development and increasing defence exports.
During the review, CMDs of HAL, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Bharat Electronics, Bharat Dynamics, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, BEML and MIDHANI will present dividend cheques representing the government's equity share for FY2025-26.
Singh will also release four publications covering the self-reliance journey of DPSUs, the DISHA initiative for students, HAL's modernisation roadmap and its indigenisation roadmap.
DPSUs delivered strong financial performance in FY2025-26, with total turnover rising 15.4% year-on-year to Rs 1.29 lakh crore. Their cumulative profit after tax increased 15.6% to Rs 23,136 crore.
Defence exports by DPSUs also recorded a sharp 151.2% increase during FY2025-26 compared with the previous financial year, highlighting the government's focus on strengthening India's indigenous defence manufacturing and expanding its presence in global markets.
