Transactions processed through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) remained close to record levels in August, with the total value reaching Rs 29.8 lakh crore, according to data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Tuesday.
The monthly transaction value was slightly below the record Rs 29.9 lakh crore recorded in both May and July 2026.
In terms of volume, however, UPI achieved a new all-time high of 24.51 billion transactions in August, up from 23.66 billion transactions in July, highlighting continued growth in digital payments.
