Indian benchmark indices gave up part of their early gains as weakness in IT stocks dragged sentiment, while investors kept a close eye on the results of assembly elections across four states and one union territory.

At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77283.7 up by 370.2 points or by 0.48 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24139 up by 141.45 points or by 0.59 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77910.75 and intraday low of 76939.54 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24290.2 and intraday low of 24004.75

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1736.00,+4.88%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2314.25,+2.83%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 4105.45,+2.31%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1461.40,+2.14%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 251.45,+1.88%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1830.95,-2.92%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 372.35,-2.69%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2436.00,-1.52%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 311.65,-1.05%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1169.40,-1.02%), among others.
