Indian benchmark indices are expected to open on a flat-to-positive note on July 15, supported by firm trends in GIFT Nifty, which was trading around 24,045.50 in early trade.
In the previous session, domestic equity benchmarks ended sharply lower as rising crude oil prices, triggered by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, coupled with weak global market cues, dampened investor sentiment.
On Tuesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 77054.94 down by -561.46 points or by -0.72 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24052.05 down by -158.95 points or by -0.66 %.
On the global front, most Asian markets were trading higher as oil prices remained flat amid tensions in West Asia. Japan's Nikkei 225 and South Korea's Kospi were trading 0.31 per cent and 5.57 per cent up, respectively.
Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 ended 0.02 per cent and 0.38 per cent up, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite settled 0.90 per cent up.
