Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher on Monday following a sharp decline in crude oil prices amid easing geopolitical tensions.
Foreign fund inflows also added to markets' optimism during the initial trade.
At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 78707.03 up by 612.39 points or by 0.78 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24578.2 up by 194.6 points or by 0.8 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 78895.1 and intraday low of 78497.34 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24592.45 and intraday low of 24515.15
