Investors remained cautious ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's monetary policy decision due on Wednesday, while weekly derivatives expiry and heightened volatility following the implementation of the NSE's new Closing Auction Session (CAS) also kept markets under pressure.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 78428.95 down by -210.08 points or by -0.27 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24614.9 down by -159.4 points or by -0.64 %.
