The Nifty 50 and Sensex opened higher, supported by gains in PSU banking stocks, while oil prices extended their decline as Iran and Oman moved towards cooperation to facilitate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77953.11 up by 297.02 points or by 0.38 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24351.15 up by 16.6 points or by 0.07 %.
