Sensex, Nifty turns green amid fresh buying

Trimming all the early losses Indian benchmarks were trading in green during the late afternoon deals supported by buying in bluechips like Banking & financials, FMCG and auto stocks. HDFC Bank, Axis Bank gained over 1 per cent each. Shares of VIP Industries (up 1.78 per cent), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (up 1.78 per cent), TTK Prestige (up 1.66 per cent) and Titan Company (up 1.29 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

At 14:29 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 35619.92 up by 149.77 points or by 0.42 % and then NSE Nifty was at 10729.8 up by 66.3 points or by 0.62 %. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 35657.15 and intraday low of 35010.82 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10731.35 and intraday low of 10534.55

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1932.55,+1.61%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1423.95,+1.35%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2110.20,+1.25%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 312.50,+1.13%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3205.00,+1.01%), among others. Whereas, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 415.70,-1.83%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 1885.25,-1.58%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 179.45,-1.46%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1543.45,-1.34%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 644.30,-0.73%), among the top losers.

At sector front, CGS index was at 18574.92 up by 155.36 points or by 0.84%. Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 1040.00,+4.42%), GE T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 278.25,+4.04%), BEML Ltd. (Rs. 888.40,+2.08%), Elgi Equipments Ltd. (Rs. 264.50,+1.40%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1423.95,+1.35%). On the flip side, Auto index was at 20853.41 up by 137.12 points or by 0.66%. Cummins India Ltd. (Rs. 808.50,+2.39%), Apollo Tyres Ltd. (Rs. 233.55,+2.08%), MRF Ltd. (Rs. 67378.05,+1.93%), Exide Industries Ltd. (Rs. 261.25,+1.28%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd. (Rs. 164.00,+1.27%).

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2722 , shares advanced were 1051 while 1505 shares declined and 166 were unchanged.
