Copper futures declined sharply on Sunday, falling Rs 63.15 to Rs 1,230 per kilogram, as traders trimmed their positions amid subdued demand in the domestic market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the February copper contract dropped 4.88%, with a business turnover of 14,625 lots, reflecting cautious sentiment among participants.
Market analysts said the fall in prices was largely due to reduced buying interest and lower speculative bets, which weighed on overall copper trade.
