SKF India (Industrial) Ltd has announced that its Board of Directors has approved the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, as part of its long-term capacity expansion and modernisation strategy.

The plant will be developed over the period from 2026 to 2030, with an estimated project cost of Rs 6,535 million. The project will be fully funded through internal accruals and owned funds.

The proposed unit will be designed as a “Factory of the Future,” focused on creating a lean, clean, and digitally enabled manufacturing ecosystem aimed at delivering higher efficiency compared to the company’s existing Pune facility.

The new plant will accommodate the current 12 production channels and add eight additional channels, enabling increased capacity and operational flexibility. The company also expects significant gains in productivity, along with a reduction in value-added costs and overall improvement in cost efficiencies.
