SJVN Ltd has achieved commercial operation date (COD) for its 75 MW Jamui Solar Power Project in Bihar, developed through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL).
The project, developed at an estimated cost of Rs 342 crore, is expected to generate around 90 million units of electricity in its first year and approximately 3,522 million units over 25 years.
Power generated from the project will be supplied to Bihar at a tariff of Rs 2.96 per unit. The project is expected to reduce around 82,251 tonnes of carbon emissions and generate direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region.
The commissioning further strengthens SJVN's renewable energy portfolio and supports the government's target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
