Indian benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty were trading in the red on Friday, dragged down by losses in metal and IT stocks, which weighed on overall market sentiment.

At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82342.47 down by -223.9 points or by -0.27 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25336.1 down by -82.8 points or by -0.33 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 82430.82 and intraday low of 81941.03 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25370.7 and intraday low of 25213.65

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 1080.20,+1.47%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3434.30,+1.44%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3977.35,+0.99%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 321.80,+0.99%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 448.15,+0.82%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 192.95,-4.65%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 255.90,-1.78%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1359.60,-1.77%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1739.55,-1.60%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3775.00,-1.26%), among others.
