Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty wiped out their initial gains and slipped into the red on May 6, weighed down by profit booking and weakness across select sectors.

At 12:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76859.41 down by -158.38 points or by -0.21 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24022.3 down by -10.5 points or by -0.04 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77675.01 and intraday low of 76773.25 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24250.85 and intraday low of 24019.7

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4355.35,+2.73%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 4242.00,+2.68%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2469.05,+1.51%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1832.70,+1.41%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1845.00,+1.33%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3918.20,-3.40%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1432.90,-2.13%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2299.45,-1.24%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 316.00,-1.03%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 368.00,-0.89%), among others.
